Buying or renting new office space is expensive. Refurbishment is often more cost effective.

Great Barr Community Hub
Great Barr Community Hub, Great Barr, Birmingham
Working with Warwick based Architect Laurie Day and the 20th Walsall scout group we assisted with the cost planning and design development to achieve a new purpose built building for use as a community hub and new Scout Head Quarters, in Great Barr, Birmingham.
The building comprises a 412m2 steel portal frame with facing brick and cladding to the external walls. Internally there was a large open plan sports hall and a mezzanine is with toilets and offices.
This scheme involved wind catchers on the roof to provide natural ventilation and Air Source Heating powering an underfloor heating system.
The project benefited from funding from lottery, and achieved the tight budgetary requirements and design brief to construct a utilitarian, industrial style hard wearing building for robust use by the community.
